Puppy Reservation & Application Process, Fort Worth TX Amstaff Breeder
What actually happens between "I want that puppy" and pickup day — in order.
1. A conversation first
Before any deposit, we talk — by phone, not just text. We ask about your household, your experience with the breed, your yard or living situation, and what you're hoping this dog's life looks like. This isn't a formal written application; it's a normal conversation that lets us both figure out whether this is a good match before money is involved.
2. Choosing your puppy
If you're reserving from an available litter, you choose (or we help you choose, based on what you're looking for) a specific puppy by sex, color, and where possible, early personality. If you're reserving from an upcoming litter, you're holding a spot in the reservation order and will choose once puppies are born and old enough to tell apart.
3. Deposit
A deposit holds your specific puppy and is applied toward the total price shown on our pricing page. We'll walk you through the deposit amount and remaining balance by phone so there's nothing unclear in writing later.
4. Updates until pickup
Between your deposit and pickup day, we send photo and weight updates as your puppy grows, along with anything relevant — first vet visit, early socialization milestones, or a change in expected pickup timing. You should never have to wonder what's happening with your puppy.
5. Pickup day
Puppies go home once they're old enough and have had their first round of vet care. See bringing your puppy home for exactly what that day looks like and what you'll leave with.
What we're screening for
We're not looking for a perfect résumé — we're looking for honesty about your situation and a realistic plan for a strong, active breed. A small yard with a real exercise plan is a better fit than a big yard and no plan at all. If something about your situation gives us pause, we'll say so directly rather than quietly declining.
